The open Supplier / Vendor Database listings sub-section tells you about government departments, non-profit organisations, and companies that want various products and services provided to them on a regular basis.
The amount of each job or order is usually under R500 000 (any larger jobs generally go out to tender). The organisation having the database of potential suppliers will ask interested businesses to submit their details which are then kept on their records for a period of time (usually one year). If they require any of the services / products that you sent in your details about, they may then ask you to quote, or could give you the job. (NB! Because they have accepted your application does NOT mean that you will automatically granted any work.)

Tenders are once-off jobs or contracts. The company, non-profit organisation, or government department that puts work out to tender usually only does this for jobs which are bigger than those that they would ask you to list on a supplier database for ie. over R500 000 (but not always).
Please note that they could ask for a tender application fee. Usually this is a few hundred Rands although for large contracts this could be many thousands of Rands. This is done to cover some of their administrative costs in assessing the tender and to ensure that you are serious about wanting to apply. You will not get this money back.

Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) is the official Tourism and Biodiversity Conservation Management Public Entity established in terms of the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency Act of 2005, Act No. 5 of 2005, and reports directly to the Mpumalanga Provincial Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism.

RFPs will be available to prospective service providers through e-mail or can be collected from the Supply Chain Management Unit, Block E, N4 National Road, Mataffin, Nelspruit from Tuesday, 15 April 2013 at no cost.
